What's good bro?! This week we are starting off our series about Godly connections and brotherhood. Up first is Moses and Aaron. Their story can be found in the book of Exodus. God called Moses to deliver the children of Israel from the Egyptians. He was instructed to tell Pharaoh to let them go, but he was hesitant because he wasn't a good speaker. So what God did was put Aaron in place to assist Moses. Aaron was a strong speaker, and Moses had strong revelation. Together they were able to free God's people. Here's the key...neither one of them were intimidated or jealous by the gifts that they did not have. They saw the purpose of the relationship and assisted each other to complete God's plan. Bro, in this season God is going to surround you around people who are gifted in ways that you aren't. It is important that you learn to celebrate and collaborate with those gifts. God is going to send you some brothers to assist with what he is calling you to do! Regardless of if you are Moses or Aaron...be ready to receive and connect with them.

What's Up My Brother! For those who have registered I'm looking forward to seeing you in person on July 25th! For those who weren't able to secure a spot make sure that you join the stream as we go #BackToTheAltar. I want to remind you that this brotherhood's purpose is to empower you to be who God is calling you to be! There is power in being connected! There is accountability, encouragement, and strength that comes from being around likeminded people. If you look in the Bible every time God did something great it was done through relationships. Moses had Aaron, David had Jonathan, Jesus had the disciples. These connections pleased God and impacted nations of people. God is aligning you with people who are mandatory for the calling on your life! Over the next few weeks we will be diving in a little deeper on connecting to the right people! Stay connected and know that I'm praying for you bro ✊🏾

Bro! I’m praying all is good with you and that you’re still hanging in the fight 💪🏾 There are some victories that you will have to work for and there are others that God will give to you if you are obedient. This weeks play comes from Exodus 14:14 which tells us the Lord will fight for us! He will take care of our enemies, opponents, and challengers. The only thing that he asks is that we be still! What does be still mean? It means to let God be God! Brother you don’t have to worry about how the problem is going to get handled, how the situation will end, or who will come out with the victory. Simply stand in the truth of God and watch him secure you an easy win 🥇 Your heavy work is light work to God.

Bro! This week I just want to give you some simple encouragement. The encouragement is that you're doing great! A lot of times we get discouraged because we have not reached the place of perfection. The reality is that God doesn't require perfection, he requires progress. Each day that you do better than you did the day before, God is pleased. Celebrate your small wins, while continuing to become better in your walk with him. Today you didn't use the language you normally use as much, you didn't entertain temptation like you did last week, you walked with some more integrity...that's a big deal. Keep striving, keep pressing, and walk in the truth that God is proud of your growth!

Bro! There is nothing you will ever do, experience, or go through that will make you unreachable or unlovable to God! He loves you regardless of your current realities! You may be struggling, you may be hurting, you may be afraid...but you are also loved! Life is full of changes but the one thing that will remain consistent is the love God has for you! I challenge you to walk in that truth this week!

What’s up my brothers! What is temptation? It is the desire to do something, especially something wrong or unwise. Usually temptation comes with consequences that aren’t even worth your temporary moment of satisfaction. As young men we deal with it daily! From the girl that walks past, to the people we hang around, to the activities we want to participate in…it is there. Be encouraged 1 Corinthians 10:13 tells us that there is no temptation that we are experiencing that is different from what anybody else is. It also tells us that God provides us a way out! My advice to you is take the way out! Be aware of your weak moments, surround yourself around people who will hold you accountable, and focus on the word in those moments. Just because you feel it, doesn't mean you have to fulfill it 🙏🏾

What’s up bro! Last week we covered the important of being connected to truth and covered by righteousness. On paper that sounds really good but in life...that’s a struggle! The truth can at times be harsh and righteousness can seem unobtainable in certain seasons of your life. There have been multiple times in my life when I have been at war with what I want and what God says. The reason for this because there are certain areas in my life that are weaker than others when it comes to being obedient to God. We all have those areas and moments...it’s no judgement my brother! A good athlete focuses on their areas of strength, but a great athlete works to improve those areas of weakness. This Sunday Pastor Mark talked about training the weak areas in our life. My challenge to you this week is to do just that. Take a moment to stop and reflect on where you currently are in life. What makes it hard for you to obey God? Where do you lack self control? What makes it hard for you to walk to be connected to truth and walk in righteousness?

What’s up bro this weeks play is Ephesians 6:14 “Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place”. The first two pieces of armor that we are going to look into are the belt of truth and the breastplate of righteousness. The belt of truth is important because it symbolizes connection. Our instruction is to be connected to the truth of God and his truth for our lives! We are to fasten ourselves to it so that we can’t be easily detached. Last weeks play told us that our opponent has a strategy to destroy us. A part of the strategy is for us to not know God’s truth about us. Our opponent works best through lies about our identity, purpose, and plans that God has for our life. This is why we must be connected to the truth of God so that we understand what pleases him and can align our ways to his standard. The breastplate is important because it protects vital areas like your heart. The instruction is saying to guard your heart by doing what is right according to God’s standard. Now doing what is right in the eyes of God isn’t popular, and it doesn’t always match the culture, but it will keep you safe! Righteousness protects you from unnecessary pain, danger, and death! It protects your dreams, goals, and character. It keeps your heart from being tainted and punctured! This weeks practice is for you to stay connected to God’s truth by reading and listening to his word; and then to operate in that truth by doing what pleases God. Suit up my brother ✊🏾

Welcome back brothers! This weeks play is Ephesians 6:11 “Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil”. Our opposer is the devil and he is mad that you are empowered by Jesus to do all things! His goal is to see you lose your benefit as a son of God and to do this he has a specific strategy designed for your life. He attacks your thoughts, your feelings, and your self esteem. He works best in every area that is left uncovered by God! Here’s the good news…God wants to see you win so bad that he provided you with armor to protect you against every punch that the devil will throw. This week read over Ephesians 6 and become a little more familiar with the armor. We’ll speak a little bit more on the pieces of armor in the coming weeks. Suit up bro ✊🏾

What’s up Bro! This weeks play is Philippians 4:13 “For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength”. No matter how talented, gifted, or unique we are in life; there are still some goals that seem unachievable, obstacles that seem unchangeable, and circumstances that seem unchanging. The reality is that in life there are times when you will face things that you simply don’t have enough strength to handle on your own. These limitations can be frustrating because it exposes our areas and moments of weakness. I get it...believe me! Here’s the good news...we serve a God who empowers us to do the things that we can’t do in our own strength! This weeks play is saying that when we include Christ in everything that we do, there is literally nothing we cannot accomplish! When Christ empowers you, it causes all of your limitations to be broken! This week I want you to practice this play by simply praying this prayer “This is bigger than me, but it is not bigger than you God. Empower me to move beyond my limitations.” Pray this as often as you need to and watch how God makes you strong! Have a great week my brothers ✊🏾

What’s Up Bro! What’s your favorite sports team? If you are from Philly you may say the “Eagles”, if you’re from the DMV you might say “The Washington Football Team”, or if you’re me you would say the “Dallas Cowboys”. While these are all different teams, what is the one thing that they have in common? They all use playbooks! The playbook contains their strategies, instructions, and tactics to beat their opponents. The goal of every playbook is to establish a clear path to a win! God has provided us with a playbook. That playbook is called the Bible. In the Bible you will find all of the tools, resources, strategies, and plays necessary to live a life of victory. The goal of this ministry and brotherhood is to see you live a victorious life. The way that we will do this is by studying the playbook. The playbook tells you how to get around the obstacles that will be thrown at you throughout life. The playbook tells you what to watch out for and what will help you. The playbook exposes the strengths and weaknesses of every team. The playbook is essential for you to win. My challenge for you this week is for you to get your playbook. Stop past a book store and pick up a bible or go to your app store and download it. When you get it take the time to read Philippians 4:13…this will be the first play that we learn! Next week practice begins!
